Attending boot camp sleep deprived is not a good idea
It can really be tough.
Waking up early for boot camp.
So, to help you, here are 17 ways to help you wake up feeling refreshed, alive, and BURSTING with energy!
- Eat whole, organic foods 90% of the time.
- Drink at least 8 glasses of pure water daily.
- Take Krill oil daily. (here’s the best brand)
- Exercise for 30 minutes to an hour daily.
- Foam roll your legs with a foam roller 30 minutes before bed.
- Stop watching TV an hour before bed. Or better yet, skip it.
- Stop watching the news and reading the paper. Go on Timothy Ferriss’ low-information diet
- Keep a journal by your bed and dump your worries, plans, and thoughts into it before you shut your eyes. This will keep your brain from going over the minutia of your day and future.
- Read a fiction book while laying in bed just before sleep to clear your mind of the days events. Or do as one of my clients suggests: read a book on art history. (no offense to art history buffs.)
- Go to bed earlier and allow for 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
- Make sure your room is cool and TOTALLY dark. Any light will disturb your sleep cycles.
- Take 1mg of melatonin 30 minutes before bed and before reading your fiction book.
- Reflect on all the things in your life for which you are deeply grateful.
- When you wake up, immediately drink a very big glass of water…before your feet hit the floor.
- Rub the soles of both feet for a minute, deeply, before you put them on the floor. Deep breathe as you do this.
- Put your feet on the floor and stretch your arms overhead 5 times as you take huge breaths in…hold them for a second and exhale deeply.
- Get moving quickly.
Tell me how it works for you. Post your comments below.
See you in boot camp!
Cheers,
D
